About Ernakulam |
Ernakulam is located on the coast of the Arabian sea with Kottayam and Alappuzha districts on the south, Idukki on the east and Thrissur on the north. The commercial capital and the most cosmopolitan city of Kerala, Kochi, in Ernakulam, is also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea.
With one of the finest natural harbours in the world, this was once a major centre of commerce and trde with the British, Arabs, Chinese, Portguese, Dutch etc. |

Kochi (Cochin) |
| Kochi is just about the center of Kerala. It is basically a collection of islands and narrow peninsulas. Ernakulam is the commercial center and forms the mainland. The two main railway stations and the bus stands are located here. Fort Kochi & Mattachery, form an elongated island west of Ernakulam. |

Hill Palace Museum, Thripunithura |
| 10 k from Kochi, Hill Palace, the officail residence of the erstwhile Kochi royal family, was built in 1865. The ccomplex consist of 49 builings in the traditional architectural style of Kerala and is surrounded by 52 arces of terraced land with a deer park an facilities for horse riding. A fullfledged ethno-archaeogical museum and Kerala's first ever heritage museum are the main attractions. |

Kaladi |
| The birthplace of Adi Sankaracharya, the great Advaita philosopher of the 8th century, Kaladi is 10km from Aluva. Temples dedicated to Sri Sankara, Sarada Devi, Sri Krishna and Sri Ramakrishna add to the sanctity of the destination. A place called Crocodile Ghat id where Sri Sankara took his vows of reunication. |

Kodanad |
| 30 km from Kottayam town. Situtated in the high ranges on the southern bank of the Periyar, Kodanad is one of the largest elephant training centres in the south India. Elephant trainging centres in south India. Elephant specially trained for safari are provided with saddled for riding. There is also a mini zo for wild animals here. |
